History
Around September of 1998, vocalist/pianist Andrew McMahon, bassist Kevin "Clutch" Page, & drummer Brian Ireland, previous members of the band Left Here, merged with lead guitar player Josh Partington & rhythm guitar player Reuben Hernandez to form Something Corporate. A band's title is an ironic testament of its members' disdain for packaged, industry-driven, & so "corporate" music. the band independently freed a demonstration Video titled Ready... Break in September of 2000. In March 27 2001, Something Corporate announced an official change to the band's lineup by owning Hernandez existence for good replaced by his irregular fill-inside William Tell.

A quintet presently signed by using Drive-Thru Records, who freed a band's official debut effort in October 2 2001, which was promoted by nationwide tours, within-store performances at Tower Records stores and an appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn on February 25 2002. A critically acclaimed Audioboxer (featuring the hit lone "iF yoU C Jordan" & its music video starring ''American Pie's'' Chris Owen) and a clause in Drive-Thru Records' distribution deal led to a signing with their distributor MCA, which later merged with Geffen Records. In May 21 2002, Something Corporate's major label debut album, Leaving through the Window, was released, containing a singles "I Woke Up in a Car" & "Punk Rock Princess". A album hit #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, #1 on the Billboard Guide Future Artist chart & #101 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, while "Punk Rock Princess" hit #33 on the UK singles chart. To bridge a gap between Going away through the Window & their watch-higher album, Something Corporate freed the half hour home DVD titled A Year in the Life on November 5 2002, as well as a B-sides compilation EP only available in Japan coroneted Songs for Silent Movies on May 21 2003.

In October 21 2003, Something Corporate's sophomore effort, North, was released & debuted at #24 on the Billboard 200 using 42,000 copies sold. It launched a album by using an appearance in ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing the songs "iF yoU C Jordan" and "Space", which remained the only single from the album. In February 4 2004, Something Corporate confirmed that William Tell had left the band to pursue a solo career. Bobby "Raw" Anderson, at one time of Flow of any stream City High, replaced him when a band's touring guitar player. In May 20 2004, Something Coroprate filmed their concert at the Ventura Theater around Ventura, California. A footage was freed in their 2nd personal DVD, Live at the Ventura Theater.

Within summertime 2004, a b& were growing exhausted from either spending years on tour, and decided to take a break. In a period of a hiatus, Partington formed the band Firescape and recorded the 5 song EP ''Rearden's Conscience in 2005. McMahon, then again, freed a solo album Everything in Transit'' under the title Jack's Mannequin on August 23 2005. A day he finished recording, he was diagnosed by having acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
